Puttur Deanery Level Bible Class on the Gospel of Luke under the title “To Proclaim the Good News” was held on Five Sundays of July-02, 09, 16, 23, 30-2023 from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm at Mai De Deus Church, Puttur.
This Course was jointly organised by the Commissions for Bible of the Parishes of the Puttur Deanery and the Commission for Bible of the Diocese of Mangalore.
Forty-Five people from throughout the deanery took part in the course.
The course mainly dealt with various themes such as the Infancy Narrative of Luke, the Nazareth manifesto of Jesus, the sermon on the plain, the “journey” of Jesus, the parables and miracles in Luke, passion, death and resurrection narratives of Luke.
During the concluding ceremony, the Vicar Forane, Very Rev Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas honoured the participants with certificates and acknowledged the interest of the participants for the deeper learning of the Word of God. The course director Rev Dr Vincent Sequeira acclaimed the initiative of the deanery priests in organising the Bible Course for the second time and the participants for their zeal for the Word of God. He also thanked Vicar Forane for his keen attention and leadership in arranging the Bible Class. Fr Lohith Mascarenhas, Assistant Priest, compered the programme and took care of the logistics for the class.
