26th December, 2018 was a great day for the Kalimani Substation. Along with the celebration of the Birth of Jesus, 4 babies received the Baptism and 19 children received Jesus for the first time in the Blessed Sacrament. The Eucharist began at 11.00 a.m. with a solemn entrance procession with singing and dancing. Fr. Hilary Lobo the Parish Priest presided over the Eucharist and gave a meaningful Homily. Fr. Joseph Rodrigues gave the communion to the Children. Mr. Erasmo Mlacha and Mr. Josephat Mrema, the Catechists had prepared the children for the first communion. Sisters had prepared a meaningful liturgy and also decorated the altar and the parish council members had decorated the church and the surroundings. The choir enhanced the liturgy by their melodious singing.
Around 300 people were present for the Eucharistic celebration. After the Mass, there was a small felicitation to the first communion children and a Christmas celebration by cutting the cake. The programme ended with a fellowship meal.
The whole programme was well arranged by the guidance of Fr. George Crasta the in charge of the substation.
