Mangalore, Aug 18 : Torrential rains in several parts of Kerala have taken a heavy toll on life and property, with many bearing the brunt of the floods. Mangalore diocese, has come with an effective initiative to help the flood victims in Kerala by collecting funds from the faithful for this noble cause.
Expressing grief over the huge loss of lives and property it has requested people to come forward to help generously the victims. Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza in a press release has asked contributions in all the churches of the diocese on August 19 to be sent to the victims’ help.
He has further said that he will pray for the souls of people who have died in the calamities and conveyed his condolences to their families.
