Commemorating St John Mary Vianney, the patron of priests a solemn yet awe-inspiring celebration was organized at St Joseph’s Seminary on Thursday 8 August 2019 with 23 Newly- Ordained priests of the 2018-19 pass-out batch. These new, young and dynamic priests came back to pay homage to their Alma Mater and share their sentiments of joy and gratitude. The celebration began with a friendly basketball match between the seminarians and the newly ordained priests.
A solemn festal Mass was celebrated with the new priests along with staff of the seminary with Fr Jithesh Castelino being the Main celebrant and Fr Rajesh breaking the word of God. A short felicitation program for the new priests was also held after the mass with Rector, Rev. Fr Ronald Serrao extending a cordial welcome to our Alumni. Fr Leo Lasrado, the administrator of the house delivered a fitting and impressive greeting, commending the priests on their achievement and wishing them the best for the future.
In response one of the new priests shared his nostalgic memories, enunciating his praise for the formation received at St Joseph’s and thanking all the faculty members for their sacrifice and love. The feast culminated with a festive dinner.
