Commission for Basic Ecclesial Communities(BECs) held Parish Convenors and secretaries meet on two phases recently.
First phase was held at Loreto sabhabhavan on 2nd July where 81 participated from 5 deaneries (Belthangady, Bantwal, Moodabidri, Puttur and Vitla). On this occasion a pendrive on BECs Songs, “ಸಮುದಾಯಾಚಿಂ ಗಿತಾಂ” was released.
Second phase was held on 6th August at ‘sambhram’ St Antony’s Ashram, Jeppu where 101 participated from 7 deaneries (Episcopal City, City, Bela, Kirem, Permannur, Pezar and Suratkal).
For both occasions the theme was “ಆಮ್ಚಿಂ ಕುಟ್ಮಾ-ಮುಳಾವೊ ಸಮುದಾಯ್”. Rev Fr Anil Alfred D’Souza and his team enlightened the participants regarding the theme. A well knit family which built on the Word of God and God Experience can only come together in the ward. Trust in the providence of God is an essential factor for the formation of family. Healthy relationship between parents and children, husband and wife and between siblings paves a strong foundation for a strong and devout family. The team members are Mrs. Judy Pinto, Mr Vijay and Mrs Laveena D’Souza and Mr William Colaco. Fr Joachim Fernandes was the moderator for the panel discussion.
Earlier, the need of Parish Service Team and the role and responsibility of the Convenor was explained. Both occasions the program concluded with the Eucharistic celebration. Fr Maxim Dias, the BECs Karnataka Regional director celebrated the Eucharist at Loretto. Msgr Maxim Noronha, the Vicar General of the diocese of Mangalore celebrated the Eucharist at St Antony’s Jeppu.
