Mangaluru. Feb. 27, 2017: St Juze Vas Home- A home for the senior retired priests of Diocese of Mangaluru was inaugurated on 27 February 2017 by Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore.
In the beginning Rev Msgr Aloysius D’Souza, Former Vicar General cut the ribbon and inaugurated the building. Fr Denis D’Souza, senior priest unveiled the plaque to mark the inauguration of the building.
Bishop blessed the building and offered thanksgiving mass at the new chapel. He blessed and dedicated the chapel. Bishop presided over the Eucharistic celebration. Fr Clifford Fernandes preached the homily.
After the mass there was a felicitation programme. Bishop honoured the donors, architect, Engineer and other important persons who were responsible for the completion of the project.
Bishop Aloysius, Project Coordinator and PRO of the Diocese Fr William Menezes, Fr Vincent Monteiro, Principal donor Mr Leo Rodrigues, Mr Felix Albuqerque and Sr Celine Cutinho were present on the dais.
The felicitation programme concluded with Lunch.
Fr Vijay Machado and Fr Anthony Monteiro compered the programme.
