Mangaluru, May 2 : Undergraduate Students of Gladsom home along with Bishop, Priests, Parents celebrated Gladsom day pompously in the honor of St Juze Vaz their patron here on Monday, May 02, 2022 at Gladsom Home for students minor seminary.
The celebration started with the Holy Eucharist presided by Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha the Bishop of Mangalore. After the mass cultural programs were organised by the Students.
The skit which was based on the values from the life of Blessed Carlo Acutis was the center of attraction. It also highlighted the importance of the Eucharist in the life of every Catholic. The Regent of the house Br Joel Monteiro presented the annual report for the year 2021-22.
“Come and See”, a handbook for the Minor Seminary Formation in Mangalore Diocese was unveiled by Most Rev Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha along with other priests. “Ange”, the vocation magazine was released by the new Rector Rev. Dr Praveen Leo Lasrado.
“Gladzine” , an inhouse magazine of Gladsom home was also unveiled during the programme.
The Bishop presented the mementos to all the donors of Gladsom Home and addressed the gathering. He said, “I was here as a Regent like Br Joel. The donors of this house were living with us. They had a great thirst for the Eucharist and that their house should be the house of prayer and today it is fulfilled”. He also congratulated the new Rector and wished all the best to the outgoing Rector.
The programme was organised by Rev Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes along with Regent’s brother Joel Monteiro. The Sisters of Jesus and Mary convent, Diya Kiran convent, Asha Niketan convent, Ursuline Convent, and many priests of the Diocese were present. The program concluded with dinner.
