MANGALURU, JUNE 14: Bible Class on the Gospel of
Matthew organised by the Biblical Commission of the
Diocese of Mangalore and Ephphatha Biblical Centre- a unit
of the Diocesan Biblical, Catechetical and Liturgical Centre
(DBCLC), Mangala Jyothi, received a stupendous response on
it’s commencement on June 11, 2022 in Shanthi Kiran
Pastoral Centre, Mangalore.
More than 85 faithful from various parts of the Diocese
joined the course.
Inaugurating the Bible Course by lighting the lamp, the chief
guest Fr Santhosh Rodrigues, director, Shanthi Kiran Pastoral
Centre, spoke about the significance of studying the gospels.
He also highlighted the auspicious occasion of the feast of St
Barnabas—who proclaimed the gospel of Jesus Christ—to
begin a study session on the Gospel of Matthew.
Fr Vijay Machado, director, DBCLC, welcomed the gathering.
Fr Dr Vincent Sequeira, the convener and the resource
person of the study, compeered the programme and
continued with the study sessions.
“The Bible course, Dev Amchye Sangatha or “God with us,”
deals with a deeper study of the Gospel of Matthew is
designed in Konkanni and will continue until July 9, 2022
every Saturday from 3.00 to 6.00 p.m.,”said Fr Vincent
Sequeira.
