‘Bible Quiz – 2016’ Diocesan level Quiz Competition was held on November 27 2016, in the Milagres College Auditorium. 37 parishes of the Diocese participated in this competition. Sr. Cecilia Mendonca, Provincial Superior, Bethany Convent was the chief guest. ‘The Word of God is a strong instrument in every catholic’ said Mr. M.P. Noronha, Diocesan Pastoral Council Secretary, speaking on the occasion, as the Guest of Honour.
‘Bible Quiz – 2016′ was inaugurated by placing flowers on the Bible and by incensing the Bible. Rev. Dr. Antony Prakash Monteiro, Professor of St. Philomena College, Puttur conducted the Quiz.
The Quiz was conducted in two rounds, where all 38 parishes underwent the written round and 10 teams were selected. The final round for 10 teams was conducted. Bejai, Urwa and Hospet were awarded first, second and third place respectively.
The first place was awarded with Rs. 25,000/-, Second place with Rs. 15,000/- and third place with Rs. 10,000/-. Qualified 10 teams were awarded with Rs. 2000/- each.
The Quiz was witnessed with lot of audience and well appreciated by all.
Fr. Valerian D’Souza, Parish Priest, Fr. Anil Roshan Lobo, Asst. Parish Priest, Mr. Ivan D’Souza, Vice–President, Parish Pastoral Parishad, Mr. Savil Mascarenhas, Secretary, Parish Pastoral Parishad, Convenor of Quiz Competition Mrs. Celestine D’Silva were present on the occasion.
