Moodbidri , Jan 26, 2018 : Catholic Sabha Moodbidri Deanery organized a spectacular huge procession of offerings in the afternoon of Friday, January 26.
Silver Jubilee Committee Convener Gerald D’Costa Siddakatte extended a warm welcome to all . The procession was flagged off by famous Konkani activist Roy Castelino near Swaraj Maidan Moodbidri. Roy Castelino congratulated the deanery people for taking such a bold initiative to highlight the achievements of Catholic Community.
Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh President Anil Lobo & CS Udupi Pradesh president Valerian Fernandes were present on this occasion. Deanery and parish units who brought offerings were honoured by Roy Castelino.
Then the grand procession went through the streets of Moodbidri Town with people in traditional garments, band and tableau and culminated at Alangar Church grounds around 5.30pm. The offerings were received by Catholic Sabha Moodbidri Deanery Spiritual Director & Dean V. Rev. Fr. Paul Sequeira in the presence of Alangar Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Sunil Veigus and other deanery priests. CS Deanery President Harry Rego was present on this occasion.
CS Deanery Secreatry Lloyd Rego proposed vote of thanks. Victor DSouza Paladka beautifully compered the whole programme.
The silver jubilee grand finale celebrations along with Catholic Samajotsav are scheduled to be held on January 28, 2018 at 3.30pm at Alangar Church grounds. Bishop of Mangalore Aloysius Paul DSouza will preside over the programme. Various community leaders will be present and eminent community personalities will be honoured on this grand occasion.
