Christmas celebration in Kifaru Parish of Same Diocese in Tanzania

21st December, 2018 at Kileo:

First interreligious programme of this Christmas Season was celebrated in Kileo Substation.

The programme began at 3.30 p.m. with the Christmas Carol Singing. Then some games were conducted for the children. Around 90 children participated in the various games conducted by the Youth of Kifaru parish. The winners were given some token prizes. After the games, a good skit on the birth narrative of Jesus was presented by the youth. After the Christmas Play all the local leaders were called to the stage. Mr. Shehe the local Muslim leader and Fr. Benedict Cherumbe of the Diocese of Same gave the Christmas message. Fr. Hilary the Parish Priest prayed for peace and gave the blessing to all the people present.

About 350 people were present for the programme. The Christmas play was directed by F. Victor Machado, the arrangements were done by direction of Fr. George Crasta and Mr. Prashanth. The whole programme was well arranged by the guidance of Fr. Victor Machado the in charge of the substation.

22nd December, 2018 at Mwanga:

For the first time in the District headquarters at Mwanga, we had the Christmas Celebration along with Catholic Parish of Mwanga and the Lutheran Church of Mwanga.

The programme began at 3.30 p.m. with the Christmas Carol Singing. Then some games were conducted for the children. Kifaru Parish Choir, Mwanga youth choir and the Mwanga Parish Choir sang carols. Kifaru Youth presented the Christmas Play and the Mwanga youth presented a Christmas Dance. Fr. Hilary Lobo the Kifaru parish and Rev. Emmanuel Mmzava the Assistant Bishop of the Mwanga Lutheran Diocese gave Christmas message. Fr. Everest, the assistant Parish Priest of Mwanga Catholic Church prayed over the people. About 200 people present for the programme.

23rd December, 2018 at Kalimani:

The programme at Kituri ground of Kalimani substation began at 3.30 p.m. with the Christmas Carol Singing. Then some games were conducted for the children. Around 120 children participated in the various games conducted by the Youth of Kifaru parish. After the games Christmas play was enacted. Then in the stage programme, Fr. Simion Ndekero the Ast. Parish priest of Same Cathedral gave the Christmas Message, Fr. Hilary the Parish Priest prayed for peace and gave the blessing to all the people present. Around 500 people were present for the programme.

24th December, 2018 at Kifaru:

At Kifaru, the main church, Christmas celebration began with the Eucharist at 8.00 p.m. Fr. Hilary Lobo the parish priest presided over the Eucharist and Fr. Victor Machado broke the work of God. After the Mass, there was a small fellowship gathering. All were served with cake and juice. There was a cake draw and Fr. Alwyn D’ Souza gave a Christmas Message to all the people. Children and the youth had a good fun and dance with the Santa clause.
