MANGALURU, FEB 22: Twenty couples tied the knot in the community wedding organized by St Anthony Institute, Jeppu during the Eucharistic Mass celebrated by Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao, Bishop of Shimoga along with 24 concelebrants on Febraury 22, 2022 in the premises of St Anthony Ashram Jeppu here in Mangalore.
St Anthony Institute successfully organized this unique event in its history to mark its service rendered towards the destitute during the past 124 years.
Bishop Francis Serrao in his homily said, that the couple need to understand each other and follow give and take policy. As both come from different home, place and back ground it is normal to have differences. But what is more important is to forego the differences and forgive each other. The couple should follow a rule of do unto the other what is expected from the other. If this golden rule is followed then marriage becomes successful and a happy one.
At the end of the Holy Mass the Bishop honoured those who sponsored the event by handing over the statues of St Anthony as memento.
In a felicitation programme held after the Holy Mass Fr Onil D’Souza the director of the Ashram introduced all the twenty couples to the people gathered. He then extended a warm welcome the couple and the invitees.
The organisers presented wedding rings to all the couples. The bride was given Mangal Sutra and the wedding saree. The groom was given a pair of pants and shirt. Each couple was given household items worth Rs 15,000/-. Sixty invitees from each couple (Bride 30 and Groom 30) along with the sponsors and other guests participated in the wedding reception. This is the first of its kind programme St Anthony’s organized in its history of past 124 years.
Fr J.B. Crasta, designate director proposed the vote of thanks. Fr Larry Pinto, Asst director of the Ashram said grace before the meal.

ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 22: ಜೆಪ್ಪು ಸಂತ ಆಂತೋನಿ ಆಶ್ರಮವು ತನ್ನ 124 ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಸೇವೆಯ ನೆನಪಿಗಾಗಿ 22-02-2022 ರಂದು ಏರ್ಪದಿಸಿದ ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ವಿವಾಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಜೋಡಿ ವಧು-ವರರು ತಮ್ಮ ದಾಂಪತ್ಯ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಲಿಟ್ಟರು. ಶಿಮೊಗ್ಗ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಅತೀ ವಂದನೀಯ ಡಾ. ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಸೆರಾವೊರವರು ದಿವ್ಯ ಬಲಿ ಪೂಜೆಯ ನೇತೃತ್ವ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಬಿಷಪರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರವಚನದಲ್ಲಿ ನವದಂಪತಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ದಾಂಪಾತ್ಯ ಜೀವನ ಅರಂಭ ಮಾಡಲು ಮತ್ತು ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಲು ಬೇಕಾದ ಬುದ್ದಿವಾದದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಎರಡು ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಮನೆಗಳಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಊರುಗಳಿಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯುಳ್ಳ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಜೊತೆಯಾಗಿ ಬಾಳುವಾಗ ಹೊಂದಾಣಿಕೆ ಅತೀ ಅಗತ್ಯ. ದಾಂಪತ್ಯ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಏನನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೀರೊ ಅದನ್ನೇ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತೀರಿ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯಾವತ್ತೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಾತಿಗೆ ಒಳಿತನ್ನೇ ಬಯಸಿರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಒಳಿತ್ತನ್ನೆ ಮಾಡಿರಿ. ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ನೀವೂ ಸಹ ಒಳಿತನ್ನೇ ಪಡೆಯುವಿರಿ, ಎಂದರು.
ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆಯ ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ವಿವಾಹಕ್ಕೆ ಪೆÇೀಷಕರಾಗಿ ಸಹಾಯ ನೀಡಿದ ದಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ನೆನಪಿನ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಂತ ಆಂತೋನಿಯವರ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಬಲಿಪೂಜೆಯ ನಂತರ ನಡೆದ ಸಭಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಫಾ. ಒನಿಲ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜರವರು ನೆರೆದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಜೋಡಿ ವಧು-ವರರ ಪರಿಚಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟು ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ನೆರೆದಿರುವ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿತರನ್ನು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಆಶ್ರಮ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರತೀ ಜೋದಿಗೆ ಮದುವೆಯ ಉಂಗುರ, ವಧುವಿಗೆ ಮದುವೆಯ ಸೀರೆ ಮತ್ತು ತಾಳಿ, ವರನಿಗೆ ಪ್ಯಾಂಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶರ್ಟ್, ಮನೆ ಬಳಕೆಗೆ ರೂ 15,000/- ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಮ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಯಾಗಿ ನೀಡಲಾಯ್ತು. ಸಾಮನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬಡ ದಂಪತಿಗಳು ಮದುವೆಗಾಗಿ ಸಾಲ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದ ಮೊದಲ ವರ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಅರಂಭ ಮಾಡುವ ಬದಲಿಗೆ ಸಾಲದ ಹೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತು ಕೊಳ್ಳುತಾರೆ. ಇಂತಹದರಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ವಿವಾಹವು ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ದಂಪತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಸಾಲದ ಭಾದೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭ ಮಾಡಲು ಅನುಕೂಲ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿತು. ಸಂತ ಆಂತೋನಿ ಆಶ್ರಮವು ತನ್ನ 124 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂತಹ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಪ್ರಥಮ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂದಿರುವುದೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಬಹುದು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಫಾ. ಜೆ. ಬಿ. ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತ, ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ನಿಯೋಜಿತ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ವಂದನಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಗೈದರು. ಫಾ. ಲ್ಯಾರಿ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸಹಾಯಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ಭೋಜನದ ಪೂರ್ವ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ಭೋದಿಸಿದರು.
