Father Mullers Hospital gets new catheterization laboratory (cath lab)

A catheterization laboratory (cath lab), an examination room with diagnostic imaging equipment was inaugurated by MLC Ivan D’Souza at Father Muller hospital here on Thursday June 18.

Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza blessed the new lab and said, “This is the latest and the best cath lab in the city. This is the season of admissions and I get many number of calls and letters asking for a seat in Father Muller Medical College. This shows the quality of this institution.

“This hospital also has the best cardiologists. We had inaugurated the advanced MRI unit earlier and now we the new cath lab. I am thankful to the director who decided to buy this new machine despite its high cost. We have bought this machine so that patients can be benefited. I pray to lord to bless this institution, doctors, nurses and all the staff working here.”

Ivan D’Souza said, “Birth and death of a person is known by his heartbeat. Heart is a very important organ of the human body, and taking care of it is very important. This new machine will help in identifying ailments and taking care of the heart. Nowadays even youngsters are suffering from heart diseases. Father Muller hospital has installed this new machine in order to provide quality service to the patients, though it is very expensive, costing 4.5 crore. Working in a hospital is like is doing god’s work. I congratulate Father Muller on the opening of this new cath lab.”

Dr Prabhakar, head of department of cardiology proposed the vote of thanks.

Two new bus shelters handed over to the Mangaluru City Corporation

On the same occasion, two bus shelters were handed over to the MCC by Father Muller hospital. The bus shelters were opened to the public by MLC Ivan D’Souza.

Ivan said, “Father Muller hospital has got a facelift with the construction of a new entrance block. This hospital has developed these two bus shelters and given them to the public for their convenience. The hospital has shown concern for society in building these bus shelters. It has kept this area clean and set an example.”

Corporator Naveen D’souza, administrator of FMMCH Fr Richard Coelho, director of FMCI, Fr Patrick Rodrigues, Fr Ajith Menezes and others were present.
