FERMAI, FEB 20: The members of Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of St Antony Church, Fermai undertook a pre-lenten service for a needy widow by repairing and renovating her dilapidated house. It was completed and blessed by Rev. Fr Louis Cutinha, Parish Priest, Fermai on February 20, 2022.
The dynamic youth of the parish sacrificed their free time for the noble cause of the widow, which was highly appreciated by the locals. They ventured to raise the fund by collecting scrap goods from the houses and free will offerings.
Mrs Flavia D’souza, head of the family, welcomed the gathering. Mrs Alice D’souza the elderly lady of the family lighted the lamp to initiate the programme. Rev. Fr Louis Cutinha, Parish Priest, St Antony Church, Fermai blessed the renovated house and hailed the good work undertaken by the youth. Miss Divya D’ Cunha, Secretary (ICYM) gave a brief report of the development of the work. Mr Vijith Fernandes, President (ICYM) thanked the locals for their cooperation and generosity. Mr Allen D’Sa compared the programme. The ward people and the members of parish pastoral council were present along with ICYM members. Refreshments were served to the gathering.
