The funeral mass and final rites of Mnsgr A F D’ Souza was held at Valencia Church on 24 August 2015 at 9.30 a.m. Most Rev Dr. A. P. D ‘Souza Bishop of Mangalore presided over the Eucharistic celebration. Bishop Robert Michael Miranda Bishop of Gulbarga, Bishop Francis Serrao Bishop of Shimoga, Bishop Gerald Isac Lobo Bishop of Udupi and large number of diocesan clergy also concelebrated the Eucharist. Rev. Fr. Patrick Rodrigues, Director, Father Muller Hospital broke the word of God during the Eucharist.
Rev Dr. Victor Machado, Parish Priest Cordel Church in his obituary presented the life and achievements of Mnsgr. A. F. D’Souza, popularly known as ‘Acchu Padrab’. After the mass and funeral rites, the body was laid for eternal rest at Valencia Priest Cemetry in the presence of large number of people, family members, clergy and religious. Mr. Vincent D’Souza the brother of Mnsgr A. F. D’Souza thanked all those who were present and highlighted his contribution towards the growth of Raknno Weekly, the diocesan weekly paper.
