March 06, 2017: It was an auspicious day in the History of Sacred Heart Church Madanthyar that celebrated Community, Parish, cum Catechism day on Sunday 26th February 2017, in newly installed Sacred Heart Sabhabhavan Madanthyar.
The programme began with the thanksgiving Holy Eucharistic celebration. As a main celebrant Rev. Fr. Walter D’Mello – Judicial Vicar of the Diocese, summoned the faithful in his homily, to live up to the demands of the family and community living, with the unconditional love and forgiveness.
Thereafter a variety of cultural programme was staged by the students of Sunday catechism, and the parishioners based on the faith and community life. This was followed by felicitation of the donors of the Sacred Heart Bhavan who offered a substantial amount, Church Domestic staff, outgoing S.C.C. unit leaders, Top scorers of catechism exams, students with full attendance of the catechism classes and Teachers of Sunday Catechism.
The whole programme was presided by Rev. Fr. Lawrence Macarenhas, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church Madanthyar, along with Rev. Fr. Walter D’Mello, Judicial Vicar; Rev. Fr. Fredrick Monteiro, Varado S.C.C. Director; Rev. Fr. Jerome Dsouza Principal of Sacred Heart PU College; Rev. Fr. Praveen Dsouza Assistant parish priest of Sacred Heart Church Madanthyar, and other dignitaries on dais.
After the magnificent occasion, sumptuous meal which was affectionately prepared by the parishioners was served to the gathering. The compering of the whole event was done by Mr. Vivek Vincent Pais and Mr. Rohan D’Souza. More than 2250 parishioners participated in the whole event of the day. It was a Memorable Day to every parishioner of Sacred Heart Church Madanthyar.
