Aug 27, 2016: Indian Youth Catholic Movement, Kasargod Deanery inaugurated its Silver Jubilee Year with a grand celebration on 21st August 2016 at Ukkinadka Church Hall.
Mr. Raju Ukkinadka graced the program as Chief Guest and inaugurated the Jubilee Year symbolically by opening the logo of the Jubilee. He also expressed his thoughts and feelings on the occasion. Rev. Fr. Stany Dsouza, Parish Priest of Ukkinadka parish hoisted the flag and thereafter addressed the youth through his beautiful message saying that we are the messengers of Christ, who are called to spread the good news.
Soon after the inaugural function, Mr. Roshan Vamanjoor entertained the youth through his enriching action songs. Later Rev. Fr. Richard Dsouza, Director of Canara Communication Centre delivered a talk on “ICYM and leadership in politics among the youth”. The forenoon session concluded with the Holy Eucharistic celebration by Rev. Fr. Stany Dsouza and Rev. Fr. Victor Dsouza.
The afternoon session began with a talk on PSC (public service commission) exams by Mr. Raju Kedoor. Then the central executive committee members of Mangalore Diocese led by the diocesan director Rev. Fr. Ronald Dsouza entertained the youth with creative games. Throughout the day all the youth enjoyed and gave their whole hearted cooperation.
Mr. Amrithlal Dsouza vice president of Maniyampare parish council, Mr. Milton Dsouza Secretary of Maniyampare parish council, Sr. Christella the animator of ICYM Maniyampare unit, Kasargod Deanery ICYM Director Rev. Fr. Victor Dsouza were present on the stage.
Deanery ICYM President Mr. Lawrence Talapady welcomed the gathering, Deanery Director Rev. Fr. Victor distributed the mementos to the guests as the token of love and gratitude and Secretary Mr. Jeevan Kollangana delivered the vote of thanks.
