Aug 19 : St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru has become one among the 136 qualified institutes that are selected for the Leadership in Teaching Excellence (LITE) program of AICTE under the National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) programme of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
To implement this program, SJEC has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pupilfirst Private Limited, Kerala, an industry partner of AICTE. This agreement focuses on strengthening students’ knowledge in modern software engineering through proven online teaching-learning methods.
Under this initiative, a minor degree in Advanced Web Development having 20 credits will be introduced for students of the college. This minor degree is divided into three courses namely, Getting Started with JavaScript, Server-Side Programming with Ruby on Rails and Typed Functional Programming with ReScript along with a Minor Project or Industry Internship on full-stack web app development.
In the process of rolling out this program, the faculty of SJEC will be professionally trained by industry coaches in technology tools, curriculum and continuous assessments methods that shall empower them with the necessary skills and knowledge required to implement the program through a learner-centred pedagogy.
