St Sebastian Church Permannur respond to Kerala &Kodagu flood Relief

Aug. 20, 2018: “It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” Says St Mother Teresa.

Responding to the floods that devastated the lives of many in Kerala and Kodagu the people of St Sebastian Church, Permannur have contributed generously in kind and cash.

Within one day the parish collected 3700 kilos of Rice, 300 kilos of Sugar, 35 Boxes of Biscuits and Snacks, 100 Bed-sheets, 100 towels, 250 units of toothpaste and toothbrush, 500 bottles of water, 50 kilos of Tea & Coffee powder, 500 units of soaps and apart from this lots of New clothes, Sanitary Pads, Diapers, Oil, Milk, food grains.

The Sunday offertory collection was amounted to rupees 1,38,401. This collection drive was conducted under the guidance of Fr Stany Pinto & Fr Lizel D’Souza, the assistant parish priests of Permannur.

 

 

 

The ICYM members of the parish worked all day to sort of the things and transport them to K2K Mission Centre at ICYM Central office, Mangalore from where the relief material will be sent to Kerala.
