May 28, 2016 : Monsignor Lesly Shenoy, Priest of Kolkota Arch Diocese (Now retired) celebrated his 40 years of Priesthood with Holy Eucharist at our Lady of Immaculate Church, Urwa, Mangalore. Five Bishops, 65 Priests concelebrated in the Holy Eucharist. Monsignor Denis Moras Prabhu, preached the homily.
After the Holy Eucharist, Bishop of Mangalore, Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, read the papal blessing sent by Pope Francis and honoured Msgr Shenoy with a Shawl. Monsignor Shenoy remembered and thanked all those have become instrumental in his life to complete 40 years as Priest.
Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza – Bishop of Mangalore, Bishop Henry D’souza – Bishop of Bellary, Bishop Peter Machado – Bishop of Belgaum, Bishop John Thomas – Bishop of Itanagar, Bishop Cyprian Monis – Bishop of Asansol, Rev. Valerian Dsouza, Msgr Denis Prabhu and other priests were present .
Msgr. Shenoy was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Calcutta on May 14, 1976 . While serving the FABC, in the year 1979, he made his first visit to United States of America. While returning to India, he obtained his Green Card, as a result every year he made his trip to USA to keep his Green Card active. After six years, in 1985 he took the Citizenship of America, He served in three parishes, which also had the air bases in the Diocese of Fresno. He was elevated to Prelate of Honor by Pope John Paul II, who is now St. John Paul.
