MANGALURU, AUG 09 : Canara Organisation for Development and Peace (CODP), Mangalore took the initiative to invite Dr Haridas, Manager for Climate Adaptive Agriculture & Livelihood, Caritas India to enlighten the field staff on natural resource management on Sunday, August 4, 2021 here in Mangalore.
Fr Vincent D Souza, Director of CODP, welcomed the participants and introduced the resource person Dr Haridas. He also explained the relevance of the day’s topic to the field staff as they who disseminate the information and knowledge gained to the self-help group members and community at the grassroots level.
Dr Haridas took over the session and explained in detail, through PowerPoint presentation, the various aspects and components of soil and water conservation techniques. “The need to conserve our natural resources and manage them judiciously is of utmost importance if we wish humanity to survive on this planet”, said Dr Haridas.
It was for the first time that CODP conducted the awareness program through Google meet for the office staff in its extension at Kumbla, Kasaragod who were not able to be present due to Covid restrictions. All 20 members including the Director participated in the awareness session.
