Mangalore, DEC 02: The Commission for Bible, Diocese of Mangalore, successfully organized a study and discussion session titled “Encountering Infancy Narratives” for priests on Monday, December 2, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Ashram, Sombhram Hall, Mangalore.

The session, which ran from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, served as an enriching platform for theological exploration and scriptural reflection on the Infancy Narratives found in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. It aimed to deepen the understanding of priests on the theological and pastoral dimensions of these passages, which hold significant importance in the liturgical and catechetical life of the Church, especially during the Advent and Christmas seasons.

Rev. Dr  Vincent Sequeira, Secretary of the Commission for Bible, led the initiative with a well-structured programme. The event saw the participation of around 50 priests from across the diocese, who engaged in insightful discussions, exchanged pastoral experiences, and reflected on the relevance of the Infancy Narratives in their ministries.

The participants appreciated the opportunity to delve deeper into the Word of God in a scholarly and prayerful environment. Fr Vincent Sequeira expressed gratitude to the priests for their active involvement and commitment to ongoing formation.
