Campaign Laudato Si
“The climate is a common good, belonging to all and meant for all. A very solid scientific consensus indicates that we are presently witnessing a disturbing warming of the climatic system. Humanity is called to recognise the need for changes of lifestyle, production and consumption, in order to combat this warming.”
“We have only one heart, and the same wretchedness which leads us to mistreat an animal will not be long in showing itself in our relationships with other people. Every act of cruelty towards any creature is contrary to human dignity.”
‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.’ (Genesis 1:1)
‘The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.’ (Psalm 24:1)
The earth does not belong to us – it belongs to God! It is a gift from God, a home that we share with the rest of creation. But with this gift comes responsibility
Genesis 1:26–31
