The Bible course titled “Mark’s Gospel as a Story” was inaugurated at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Church, Ranipura, on 1st June 2025 at 3:00 PM. The event began with the enthronement of the Bible, a meaningful gesture that highlighted the centrality of the Word of God in the life of the Church.
Rev. Fr Jayaprakash D’Souza, the parish priest, warmly welcomed the gathering and commended the faithful for their enthusiastic response. Rev. Dr Vincent Sequeira, Diocesan Secretary for the Commission for Bible and the course’s resource person, appreciated the participants’ zeal and underlined the community’s role in deepening the knowledge of Scripture.
While such ventures are steadily picking up among the faithful in the diocese, this course marked a milestone with a record 141 participants, mostly from Ranipura and some from the neighbouring parishes. Mr. Aaron John Nazareth, Joint Secretary of the Commission for Bible, was also present.
The Parish Bible Commission, ward Gurkars, parish representatives, and the Parish Pastoral Parishad, under the guidance of the parish priest, played a significant role in organising this faith formation and study sessions.
The course will be held on all Sundays of June, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, offering participants a deeper, story-based (narrative) exploration of the Gospel of Mark.
