MANGALURU, AUG 17: Rev. Fr Victor Machado, a senior priest of the Diocese of Mangalore, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at St Zuze Vaz Home, Jeppu. He was 81 years old.
Born in Bantwal on July 28, 1945, to Late Sebastian Machado and Late Carmine D’Souza, Fr Victor Machado was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Mangalore on October 16, 1969. Over his 56 years of dedicated priestly ministry, he rendered distinguished service across administrative, pastoral, and academic domains, notably serving as Rector of St Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu, and Parish Priest of Rosario Cathedral, Bejai, and Cordel.
His pastoral appointments and assignments over the decades included:
1970 – 1973: Assistant Parish Priest, Cordel (Kulshekar)
1973 – 1977: Teaching Staff, St Joseph Seminary, Jeppu
1977 – 1981: Higher Studies in Rome

Following his active ministry, he spent his retired life at St Zuze Vaz Home, Jeppu.
The Funeral Mass and burial rites will take place on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at St Vincent Ferrer Church, Valencia.
