‘Educare’ loan programme is an initiative of a Mangalurean Catholic NRI to assist the poor and needy Catholic students of Mangaluru and Udupi dioceses. It was started in the year 2013 and over the past two years, 1,371 students have been supported in the two dioceses. This loan assistance is to be repaid within a maximum period of 18 months following the completion of studies.
‘Educare’ has invited applications from students eligible for the loan for the year 2015-’16. Fresh and renewal applications for the loan assistance are being accepted online from April 1. Students who wish to apply are requested to submit their application as soon as possible without waiting for the last date.
Student’s eligibility
a. Income of the family should be less than Rs 2 lac per annum.
b. Priority will be given to families with two or more students studying at the same time.
c. Require minimum of 50% marks in their last examination.
d. Applicable to students studying above PUC (graduation, post graduation, diploma).
e. Applicable to Catholic students of Mangaluru and Udupi dioceses only.
Maximum loan allotment:
Engineering – Rs 50,000 each
Medical – Rs 1 lac each
Paramedical – Rs 50,000 each
Post graduation – Rs 50,000 each
B Ed, B Sc Nursing – Rs 30,000 each
Graduation – Rs 20,000 each
The last dates to apply online are:
• For the renewal applications – May 31, 2015
• For fresh graduation application – June 15, 2015
• For fresh post graduation applications – July 15, 2015
• For M Tech and medical (MBBS, nursing) – September 30, 2015
• For B Ed – November 30, 2015

Go to www.codpindia.com/educare to apply for the loan online. Students are advised to carefully read the instructions found in the website before proceeding. Keep the following documents and details ready at the time of completing the online application:
• Scanned passport size photograph
• Scanned copy of the last exam certificate (if not readily available, can be submitted later also)
• Details of the bank account (for renewals only)
