May 15, 2017: Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza the Bishop of Mangalore on the occasion of completing 21 years of his Episcopal Ordination celebrated thanksgiving Holy Eucharist on 15th May at 7.30 am at St Anthony’s Charity Institutes Jeppu. The Bishop in his message thanked the Priests, Religious and lay people for extending their generous co-operation while carrying out his responsibilities. He said that he has chosen St Anthony’s Poor Homes to celebrate the thanksgiving Holy Mass as the inmates of the Institutes are a special people of God. As a gesture of sharing his concern for them he thought of celebrating the Holy Mass with them and share his joy with them. Later he hosted a tasty breakfast for the inmates of the Institutes.
Rev Dr Prakash Monteiro the Principal of St Philomena’s College Puttur preached the homily. In his homily he said that the Bishop as a good pastor after the example Jesus the Good Shepherd has led the people entrusted to his care with full dedication. He has been kind towards those who are poor and less privileged.
Fr Onil D’Souza the Director St Anthony’s Institutes thanked the Bishop on behalf of Clergy, Religious and lay faithful of the diocese for rendering his selfless and tireless service to the diocese during the past 21 years. As a gesture of appreciation for the service rendered he offered a flower bouquet to the Bishop.
Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu the Vicar General of the Diocese, Fr Henry Sequeira the Chancellor of the Diocese, 32 Priests, Religious and lay people participated in the programme.
