March 28 : On 18th of March 2019 the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Mangalore Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha along with Rev. Fr. Vincent Montero the parish priest of Bendoor Parish arrived at Mission land of Same Tanzania for the maiden mission visit. At the Kilimanjaro airport bishop was received by SAME mission superior Rev. Fr. Alwyn M. J. D’Souza and Rev. Fr. George Crasta.
At 3.30 pm Bishop arrived at Kifaru parish and he was welcomed by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Hilary Lobo and Rev. Fr. Joseph Rodrigues with garland. Children of RUPERT children Home and Sisters from Marian Convent and few parishioners were present to welcome bishop with songs and dance.
Bishop Offers Holy Eucharist at Kifaru Parish
On his maiden visit to SAME Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha began his mission activities with offering the Holy Eucharist at Immaculate Conception of Mary Church Kifaru on March 18, 2019. Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Hilary Lobo, Rev. Fr. Alwyn M. J. D’Souza, Rev. Fr. Joseph Rodrigues and Rev. Fr. Vincent Monteiro were the concelebrants of the mass.
Sisters from Marian Convent and Children of RUPERT children home and parishioners were present for the mass. Bishop in his homily preached about love of God and how the Lent helps us to understand it through the passion of Crist.
After the Mass bishop blessed the Rosaries and distributed to all who present for the mass. At the end Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Hilary Lobo introduced the bishop and welcomed him to the mission land on behalf of the parishioners.
Bishop visits RUPERT Children’s Home
On his maiden visit to SAME Mission, Bishop of Mangalore Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha visited the SMAMs new project RUPERT Children Home on March 18, 2019. Fr. Vincent and Mr. Nittu Sing from Moshi were the guests of honor. Bishop and guests were received by Rev. Fr. Joseph Rodrigues the director of RUPERT.
By lighting the candle in front of RUPERT symbol , bishop inaugurated the program and blessed everyone. Children of RUPERT home prepared cultural program for the bishop. They welcomed him & Fr. Vincent with shawl and garland. Children performed various programs for the bishop and Sr. Belinda gave the report of RUPERT home. During his address Bishop motivated children to help one another and to grow in mutual benefits. He blessed all and appreciated those who are associated with this home.
