Bishop Peter Paul Visits Bethany Girls Sec School and Convent at Mwanga Tanzania

Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Most Rev Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha paid his first visit to Bethany Girls Sec School Mwanga along with Fr. Vincent Montheiro parish priest Bendur and Fr. Alwyn M. J. D’Souza Superior of Mangalore Africa Mission Tanzania, on March 20, 2019.

They were welcomed with a band by students and Sr. Antonette Coutinho the Delegation Superior of Tanzania Bethany Delegation received Bishop with a garland along with other sisters of the community. They were led to the hall with tribal dance. A short program was organized by the students. Sr. Antonette introduced the Bishop to the staff and students. Bishop addressed the students. In his brief talk he encouraged the students to trust in God and trust in them, to recognize the goodness within and to use the opportunities given to achieve greatness. He also made a mention of the servant of God R.F.C. Mascarenhas and his inspiration which has enabled Bethany Sisters to opt Tanzania mission.

As Bishop is an ecologist and promotes love for nature, a sapling was planted by the bishop symbolically to mark his first visit to Bethany Mwanga and to assure our support in the conservation of nature. Students presented a traditional dance along with skit which had a message to use the given opportunities well. At the end Sr. Anitha Menezes the Headmistress proposed the vote of thanks.
