MANGALURU NOV 10 : Canara Oraganisation for Development and Peace (C.O.D.P) and Sahajeevana Okkoota jointly organised a celebration of festival of lights (Deepavali on November 9, 2021 in CODP hall. The program was presided over by Rev. Fr Vincent D Souza, director of CODP.
The program commenced with a prayer and lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.
Mr. Mohammad Guthigar, associate professor HOD, Yenapoya University Deralakatte Mangalore, Rev. Fr. Vincent D Souza, director of CODP, Mr. Pradeep, SBI branch manager KS Roa Road, Mr. Kasmir D Souza, president of Sahajeevana Okkoota, Mrs. Bharathi S Chawta, Amtady Grama Panchayath member and Mrs Laveena Dhanthi, secretary of Sahajeevana Okkoota were present.
Mr. Kasmir D Souza welcomed the dignitaries and other participants.
Mr. Mohammad Guthigar aaddressingthe gathering said that peace and harmony is more important for us to build a better society.
Rev. Fr Vincent D Souza in his speech explained the meaning of Deepavali. He said that Deepawali is the festival of lights, and we should also shine and spread light among others.
Mrs. Bharathi S Chowta in her speech greeted with festal wishes and prayed for peace, prosperity and goodness during this festival.
Mrs. Jayashree Monteiro, member Sahajeevana Okkoota compered the programme and Mr Rocky Saldanha, vice president of Sahajeevana Okkoota proposed the vote of thanks.
