Jan 18 : The Canara Organization for Development and Peace®, Mangaluru, Sparsha program and Kings Star Club Riverview jointly organized Swachatha Abhiyan on the banks of Nethravathi river at Ullal Hoige on 10.01.2021.
Fr Oswald Monteiro, Director of CODP expressed his gratitude to all the volunteers for taking this good initiative of keeping our environment clean. Keeping our surroundings clean is our prime duty he stated. By doing these kind of works we will spread a positive message and thereby contribute to the well-being of our society.
Ms Veena Dsouza ward counselor appreciated CODP for its generosity towards the poor and marginalized and for distributing food kits to the needy during Covid-19. She appreciated all volunteers for planning this program and showing concern towards Mother earth.
Volunteers were divided into two groups and they started cleaning the river bank – all trash such as plastic, bottles, newspapers, thermacol etc were collected.
Altogether 14 sacks of trash was collected and segregated by the volunteers of Sparsha. Totally 30 volunteers were present for the cleanliness drive.
