CODP in collaboration with Jnanodaya group organized a De-addiction camp from 16th to 20th March 2016 at Shanthi Kiran, Bajjodi, Mangaluru. On this occasion, Bishop Aloysius Paul D Souza visited the participants on 19th March and motivated the participants to quit the social evil which destroys the families. He said alcoholics struggle mentally, physically and spiritually. Everybody needs to understand these addicted persons and support them to come out of their problems. He also exhorted the participants to attend the A.A. group meetings regularly. He appreciated the efforts of CODP and Jnanodaya to organize this camp during Lenten season and called on the participants to cooperate with them.
Jannodaya Animator, Mr. Mark D Souza gave awareness and suggestions to all the participants and their families. He also gave some key ideas to control the alcoholic problems.
CODP Director, Rev. Fr. Oswald Monteiro in his speech said that CODP is committed to the cause of poor, downtrodden and neglected. He motivated participants to live a life of dignity in the society.
There were 27 participants and their family members also invited. They gained lot of knowledge and suggestions to overcome the problem of alcoholism and skills to live in harmony in the family.
Jnanodaya Animators Mr. Prakash, Santhosh, Richard, Marcel, Rajanna and Dinesh were also present and successfully organized the five days programme.
