Jan 27 : First meeting of Diocesan Pastoral Parished in the chaired by Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha the new Bishop of Mangalore diocese was held on 25 January 2019 at Bishop House.
Msgr Maxim Noronha Vicar General , Mr M P Noronha Secretary DPP, Rev Dr Leo Lasrado the resource person of the session, Dr John D Silva the Moderator were present on the dais.
Rev Dr Leo Lasrado , Professor St Joseph Seminary gave the input on Synod of youth and Fr Ronald Prakash D Souza Director ICYM Central Council presented the activities of the year youth. Group discussion was held in 7 committees and gathered various ideas that can help in drafting the objectives and activities of year of youth.
Bishop in his introduction explained the role of DPP with the mind of Pope and the Synod. He developed the concept of SYNODALITY and its meaning and specified the role of a DPP member in living the Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ.
Many members appreciated the “ Bandhutva” initiative of the Bishop and shared the unique experiences.
Bishop Felicitated Mr Ivan D Souza for being appointed as the Chief Minister’s Parliamentary Secretary and Mr Anil Fermai for being elected as the President of MCC Bank. Both of them were the active members of ICYM and now become model for the youth.
Mr M P Noronha Secretary of DPP presented the report, Rev Sr Juliet SRA Provincial and team led the prayer, Dr John D Siva Moderated the input session, Msgr Maxim Noronha said grace before meal.
