Mangaluru, Sept 8: Fr Vernon Vaz, a priest of the Diocese of Mangalore passed away on Tuesday, September 7 at 10.45 p.m. at Father Muller Hospital. He was 67.
Fr Vernon, from Kodialbail in the city, was born on January 13, 1954. He was ordained as a priest on April 30, 1987.
He had rendered service as assistant parish priest in Puttur parish and Vakola, Director of Gladsom Home for Students Minor Seminary, Missionary in Jalasangi, Bidar and parish priest in Permude, Permapally, Adyapady and Shakthi Nagar. He was the secretary CCBI Family for 8 long years. He also rendered his services in Alangar and Gantalkatte. After serving as the assistant director of Friendship House, he took retirement in St Zuze Vaz Home, St Antony’s Institute Jeppu.
