Great start for NYC 2017 through Votive Procession

Jan. 16, 2017: The procession of the votive offerings for the National Youth Convention (NYC) 2017 was held from the Cordel Church grounds to St. Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor on January 15, 2017.

Most Rev. Henry D’Souza, Chairman of CBCI Youth Commission and Parish Priest of Holy Cross Church, Cordel Fr Victor Machado gave a symbolic start to the Votive Offering procession through a prayer service.

Congratulating the efforts of Mangalore Diocese youth Most. Rev. Henry D’Souza said that the votive offerings will help the organizers of NYC 2017 to serve all the delegates who come for the programme.

Fr. Victor Machado also congratulated the youth of Mangalore Diocese for their efforts in organizing the procession of the Votive offerings.

More than 60 vehicles took part in the procession. The procession culminated at St Joseph Engineering College where the NYC 2017 will be held. The National Youth Director Fr. Deepak Thomas OCD and Regional Youth Director Fr Mari Joseph received the Votive offerings from the Youth of Mangalore Diocese. Fr. Cyprian Pinto, Parish Priest of Vamanjoor Church led the prayer service and blessed the offerings.

Fr. Rohit D’Costa – Asst. Director SJEC, Fr. Ronald D’Souza- Director ICYM Mangalore Diocese, President Mr. Jackson D’Costa, Secretary Ms. Ancita D’Souza, Food Committee incharge Mr. Anish D’Souza, PRO Mr. Joel Concessao, Mr. Raymond D’Souza Governing Council member of ICYM and others were present on the occasion.
