Parish Small Christian Community Convenors Convention held

Mangaluru, July 23: ‘Parish SCC convenors are the co-workers with Christ. They can have a great influence on the religious and people in the parish.’ Said Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha. He was addressing the Parish SCC convenors on 21st July at St Antony’s Ashram, Jeppu Mangalore. 103 convenors among 125 Parishes attented the convention organised by the Diocesan SCC centre. The convention took off with the enthronement of the Bible. The need of Parish SCC central committee and the role of the convenor was discussed in groups. Then a deeper study on 7 step Gospel sharing method was held. Mr Robert D’Souza, Mr William Colaco, Ms Asha Monteiro, Ms Precilla Monteiro and Fr Joachim Fernandes ,SCC Director Mangalore Diocese were the fecilitators. During the Eucharistic celebration Bishop Peter Paul prayed for the convenors and thanked them for their selfless service. As Mary of Bethany listened to the Lord, we need to listen to the Lord and his people. We should be able to realize the anguish of the guest, and treat him accordingly. Mr Robert thanked all who toiled for the success of the convention.
