Sandesha Awards 2016 to be presented on Jan 16

Sandesha Awards 2016 will be be presented on Jan 16, 2016 at Sandesha, Mangalore. The awardees are :

1.Dr H. S. Venkatesha Murthy- Sandesha Literature Award

Born in 1944, Dr H. S. Venkatesha Murthy spent his early thirty years in his village in Hodigere in Chennagiritaluk, Davanagere district. He began his career as a Lecturer in Kannada in St Joesph College of Commerce, Bangalore in 1973. Besides an exemplary teacher, Dr Venkatesh is a great orator. His contribution to literature includesmore than 75 writings of varied kinds. He has to his credit collections of poems like Kriyaparva, OnamaradaGiligalu, AmerikadalliBillahabba, Uttarayana, Saugandhika, plays like HejjegalymUriyaUyyale, Agniparva, Manthare, and children’s literature like Alilu Ramayana, Chinnarimutta, HakkiSalu, Hoovina Shale.

2.Gladys Rego- Sandesha Konkani Literature Award.

Mrs Symproza Philomena Gladys Sequeira was born in Bendur, Mangalore in 1945. Known popularly in Konkani literary circles as Gladys Rego, she has brought out four volumes of short stories in Konkani, six works on folklore, two collections of stories. She has to her credit altogether 27 gooks which include short stories, folk literature, biography, research, etc. She has her own publishing agency named ‘Akash Prakashan’. Her favourite hobbies include stamps, coins and currencies, post cards, etc. She has received wide laurels for her hobbies from the general public.

3.Devdas Kapikad- Sandesha Tulu Literature Award

Born at Sajipa in Bantwal, Sri. Devdas Kapikad with his better half Smt Sharmila and son Mr Arjun, he has dedicated his life wholly to Tulu stage play and movies. Having set up a drama troupe called ‘Cha Parka’, he has written and staged around 50 plays, each of which have seen around 100-200 performances in India and abroad. His play PudarDitiji has broken all records in the Tulu drama. His popular plays include DeverDilekkapundu, Mamu, Panda Nambayer, Bolli, Gantetand, etc.

4.Sugantha Sathiaraj- Best Teacher Award

Ms SuganthaSathiarajwas born in Chennai. Havingcompleted her education in Tamilnadu, shemoved to Bellary and dedicated her entire life for the uplift of the people in the district. She spent seventeen years of her life as a teacher in English and Social Studies in St Philomena’s High School, Bellary. She was instrumental in providing education to more than thousand drop outs in Bellary. She has been working tirelessly for the empowerment of women by providing them nonconventional education and though various income generating and employment schemes and, thus, has brought cheers in hundreds of battered women of the district.

5.Ustad Rafique Khan- Sandesha ArtAward

A renowned sitar maestro, Ustad Rafique Khan began practising sitar at the young age of 9 and later graduated in music in Gandharva University, Mumbai. At the young age of 23 itself he won Mumbai’s prestigious Surmani Award. He has been recognized as the Top-Grade musician by the Akashavani. He is the sitar artist of Akashavani, Mangalore. UstadRafiq Khan has rendered his performances in SavayGandharv Music Concert, Pune,SahuMaharaj Musical Concert, Kolhapur, AlvasVirasat, Moodabidri, ManmohanBhat Musical Concert, Jaipur, etc. He has also performed overseas in countries like Europe, America, the Gulf countries, Singapore, Russia, Malaysia, etc.

6.Alexander Joel Pereira- SandeshaKonkani Music Award.

A native of Mangalore, music doyen Mr Joel Pereira has marked an unforgettable imprint on the Konkani music in Mangalore. He is versatile in playing on a wide variety of musical instruments like the keyboard, the guitar, the mandolin, the accordion and the sitar. An accomplished music composer and arranger, he has arranged music to over 350 albums. He has Arranged voices for more than 1500 hymns, 120 plussongs.

7. Thomas D’Souza, Sandesha Media Award

Born in Arasalu village, Shivamogga in 1955, Thomas D’Souza nurtured his interests in sports, dramas and music from his childhood itself. He has served the movie world as an owner of a cinema theatre, as a member, the honorary secretary and the vice president of the steering committee of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. He has been the member of executive committee of Film Chamber of Commerce. He was appointed the president of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce for 2014-15 and has toiled for the all round development of the Kannada film world. He has dedicated himself for the conservation of above 600 film theatres in Karnataka and for the growth of the Kannada films.

8. G. S. Jayadeva- Sandesha Special Award

64 year old G. S. Jayadeva took a voluntary retirement as lecturer in 2001. Settled in Chamarajanagar in 1992, he started the Deenabandhu Trust. The trust adopts children from the government schools and provides for their food, cloth and shelter. He has rendered his services in Shaktidhama, a women rehabilitation centre in Mysore, Vivekananda Tribal Welfare Centre, B. R. Hills.  He has served selflessly in the of Karnataka Government developmental committee.

The awards will be presented in a ceremony to be held on January 16, 2015 at 5.30 pm at Sandesha premises.

Archbishop of Bengaluru Dr Bernard Moras will preside over the ceremony and present the awards. Home minister G Parameshwar, Bishop of Ballari diocese Dr Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Mangaluru diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Sandesha Foundation director Fr Victor Vijay Lobo and chairman of award selection committee Dr Na D’Souza will be the chief guests, while Bishop of Udupi diocese Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D’Souza, and Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino will be the guests of honour.

ಡಾ. ಎಚ್. ಎಸ್. ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ ಮೂರ್ತಿ-ಸಂದೇಶ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ

ದಾವಣಗೆರೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಚೆನ್ನಗಿರಿ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಹೋದಿಗೆರೆ ಎಂಬ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 1944ರಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಡಾ. ಎಚ್. ಎಸ್. ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಬದುಕಿನ ಮೂವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದು 1973ರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸೈಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ಸ್ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ  ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿದರು. ಉತ್ತಮ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರೂ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಮಾತುಗಾರರೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಡಾ. ಎಚ್ಚೆಸ್ವಿ ಅವರು ಕ್ರಿಯಾಪರ್ವ, ಒಣಮರದ ಗಿಳಿಗಳು, ಅಮೇರಿಕಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಲ್ಲಹಬ್ಬ, ಉತ್ತರಾಯಣ, ಸೌಗಂಧಿಕಾ ಮುಂತಾದ ಕವನ ಸಂಕಲನಗಳನ್ನೂ  ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳು, ಉರಿಯ ಉಯ್ಯಾಲೆ, ಅಗ್ನಿವರ್ಣ,  ಮಂಥರೆ ಮುಂತಾದ ನಾಟಕಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅಳಿಲು ರಾಮಾಯಣ, ಚಿನ್ನಾರಿಮುತ್ತ, ಹಕ್ಕಿ ಸಾಲು, ಹೂವಿನ ಶಾಲೆ ಮುಂತಾದ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕೃತಿಗಳನ್ನೂ-ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆಯಾಗಿ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತೈದಕ್ಕೂ ಮಿಕ್ಕಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ರಕಾರಗಳ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕೃತಿಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಗ್ಲಾಡಿಸ್ ರೇಗೊ- ಸಂದೇಶ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ

ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬೆಂದೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ 1945ರಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸಿಂಪ್ರೋಸಾ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನ ಗ್ಲಾಡಿಸ್ ಸಿಕ್ವೇರಾ ಅವರು ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ಲಾಡಿಸ್ ರೇಗೊ ಎಂದೇ ಹೆಸರು ಪಡೆದವರು. ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಣ್ಣ ಕತೆಗಳ ಸಂಕಲನ, ಆರು ಜಾನಪದ ಕೃತಿಗಳು, ಎರಡು ಕಥಾ ಸಂಕಲನಗಳೂ  ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಕಾವ್ಯ, ಸಣ್ಣಕತೆ, ಜಾನಪದ, ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಪರಿಚಯ, ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ವಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 27ರಷ್ಟು ಪುಸ್ತಕ ರಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸಿರುವ ಗ್ಲಾಡಿಸ್ ರೇಗೋ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಆದ ಆಕಾಶ ಪ್ರಕಾಶನ್ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಕಾಶನ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಅಂಚೆ ಚೀಟಿ, ನೋಟುಗಳು, ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳು, ಮೊದಲ ಅಂಚೆ ಕವರುಗಳು ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸುವ ಹವ್ಯಾಸವುಳ್ಳ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಗ್ಲಾಡಿಸ್ ಅವರು ಅವುಗಳ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದ ವೇಳೆ ಬಹುಮಾನಗಳನ್ನೂ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಶ್ರೀ ದೇವದಾಸ್ ಕಾಪಿಕಾಡ್-ಸಂದೇಶ ತುಳು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ

ಬಂಟ್ವಾಳದ ಸಜೀಪದÀಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರೀ ದೇವದಾಸ್ ಕಾಪಿಕಾಡ್, ಅವರ ಪತ್ನಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶರ್ಮಿಳಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಪುತ್ರ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ಅರ್ಜುನ್- ತುಳು ರಂಗಭೂಮಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಚಲನ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಬದುಕನ್ನೇ ಮುಡುಪಾಗಿಟ್ಟವರು. ‘ಚಾ ಪರ್ಕ’ ತಂಡ ರಚನೆಯಾದ ಬಳಿಕ ಸುಮಾರು ಐವತ್ತು  ನಾಟಕಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾನ್ಯ ಕಾಪಿಕಾಡರು ರಚಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ತಂಡದ ಮೂಲಕ ವೇದಿಕೆಯೇರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ನಾಟಕವೂ ನೂರರಿಂದ ಇನ್ನೂರು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿದೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಪುದರ್ ದೀತಿಜಿ (ಹೆಸರು ಇಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ) ಎಂಬ ನಾಟಕ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಗಿದೆ.  ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದೇವೆರ್ ದೀಲೆಕ್ಕಾಪುಂಡ್, ಮಾಮು, ಪಂಡ ನಂಬಯರ್, ಬೊಳ್ಳಿ, ಗಂಟೇತಾಂಡ್ ಮುಂತಾದ ನಾಟಕಗಳು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಎನಿಸಿವೆ.

ಸುಗಂಥಾ ಸತಿಯರಾಜ್– ಸಂದೇಶ ಉತ್ತಮ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ

1942ರಲ್ಲಿ ಚೆನ್ನೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಕು. ಸುಗಂಥಾ ಸತಿಯರಾಜ್ ತಮ್ಮ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ತಮಿಳುನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅದನ್ನೇ ತಮ್ಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. 1975ರಿಂದ ಹದಿನೇಳು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿಯ ಸೈಂಟ್ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾಸ್  ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್, ಸೋಷ್ಯಲ್ ಸ್ಟಡೀಸ್ ಮುಂತಾದ ಪಾಠಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.

ಶಾಲೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರ ನಡೆದ ಒಂದು ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೂ ಮಿಕ್ಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮರಳಿ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಕರೆತಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ನೀಡಿ ದಡ ಹತ್ತಿಸಿದ ಹಿರಿಮೆ ಕು. ಸುಗಂಥಾ ಅವರದು. ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಆದಾಯ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುವ ಸ್ಕೀಮುಗಳು, ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ದೊರಕುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದ  ತರಬೇತಿ -ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಕೆಲಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಲ್ಲೀನರಾಗಿರುವ ಕು. ಸುಗಂಥಾ ಸತಿಯರಾಜ್ ಅವರು ಶಾಲೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಭಿನ್ನವಾದ ಬಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ನೀಡಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶಾದಾಯಕ ವಾತಾವರಣ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು.

ಉಸ್ತಾದ್ ರಫೀಕ್ ಖಾನ್– ಸಂದೇಶ ಕಲಾ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ

ತಮ್ಮ ಒಂಬತ್ತನೆಯ ಹರೆಯದಿಂದ ಸಿತಾರ್ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ ರಫೀಕ್ ಖಾನ್ ಮುಂಬಯಿಯ ಗಂಧರ್ವ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗೀತದ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದರು. ಮುಂಬಯಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಸುರ್‍ಮಣಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಶ್ರೀಯುತರಿಗೆ ಲಭಿಸಿದ್ದು ಅವರು ಕೇವಲ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತಮೂರರ  ಹರೆಯದವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ. ಆಕಾಶವಾಣಿಯ ‘ಉನ್ನತ ಶ್ರೇಣಿ’ ಪಡೆದ ಸಿತಾರ್ ವಾದಕರಾದ ರಫೀಕ್ ಖಾನ್ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಆಕಾಶವಾಣಿಯ ಕಲಾವಿದರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪುಣೆಯ ಸವಾಯ್‍ಗಂಧರ್ವ ಸಂಗೀತೋತ್ಸವ, ಕೊಲ್ಲಾಪುರದ ಸಾಹು ಮಹಾರಾಜ್ ಸಂಗೀತ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವ, ಮೂಡಬಿದಿರೆಯ  ಆಳ್ವಾಸ್ ವಿರಾಸತ್, ಜಯಪುರದ ಮನಮೋಹನ ಭಟ್ ಸಂಗೀತ ಸಮಾರಾಧನೆ- ಮುಂತಾದ ಅದೆಷ್ಟೋ ಕಛೇರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನೀಡಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಯುರೋಪು, ಅಮೇರಿಕ, ಗಲ್ಫ್ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳು, ಸಿಂಗಾಪುರ್, ರಷ್ಯಾ, ಮಲೇಷ್ಯಾ- ಹೀಗೆ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳನ್ನು  ಹಲವು ಬಾರಿ ಸುತ್ತಾಡಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಶ್ರೀ ಅಲೆಕ್ಸಾಂಡರ್ ಜೋಯೆಲ್ ಪಿರೇರಾ- ಸಂದೇಶ ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಸಂಗೀತ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ

ಮಂಗಳೂರು ನಿವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಲೆಕ್ಸಾಂಡರ್ ಜೋಯೆಲ್ ಪಿರೇರಾ ಅವರದು ಕೊಂಕಣಿ ಸಂಗೀತ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲೊಂದು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಹೆಸರು. ಕೀಬೋರ್ಡ್, ಗಿಟಾರ್, ಮ್ಯಾಂಡಲಿನ್, ಎಕಾರ್ಡಿಯನ್, ಸಿತಾರ್ ಮುಂತಾದ ಹಲವು ವಾದ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನುಡಿಸಬಲ್ಲವರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಯುತರು ಕೊಂಕಣಿ  ಭಾಷೆಯಓರ್ವ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸಂಗೀತ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸಕಾರರು ಕೂಡ. ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಷೆ, ಸಂಸ್ಕ್ರತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ಮುನ್ನೂರ ಐವತ್ತಕ್ಕೂ ಮಿಕ್ಕಿ ಆಲ್ಬಮ್‍ಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಗೀತ ಒದಗಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಒಂದೂವರೆ ಸಾವಿರದಷ್ಟು ಸ್ತುತಿ ಗೀತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸುಮಾರು ನೂರ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತರಷ್ಟು ಹಾಡುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಗೀತ  ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಶ್ರೀ ಥಾಮಸ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜ – ಸಂದೇಶ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ

ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಅರಸಾಳು ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ 1955ರಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರೀ ಥಾಮಸ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಅವರು ಎಳವೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ಕ್ರೀಡೆ, ನಾಟಕ, ಸಂಗೀತಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದವರು. ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ಮಂದಿರದ ಮಾಲಿಕರಾಗಿ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕಾರಿ  ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿ, ಗೌರವ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾಗಿ, ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. 2014-15ರಅವಧಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಥಾಮಸ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಅವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಸರ್ವತೋಮುಖ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ  ದುಡಿಯತೊಡಗಿದರು. ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸುಮಾರು ಆರುನೂರ ಐವತ್ತುಚಿತ್ರ ಮಂದಿರಗಳ ಉಳಿವಿಗಾಗಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಅರುವತ್ತ ನಾಲ್ಕರ ಹರೆಯದ ಜಿ. ಎಸ್. ಜಯದೇವ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರೂ 2001ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಯಂ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿ ಪಡೆದರು. 1992ರಲ್ಲಿ ಚಾಮರಾಜನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡ ಶ್ರೀಯುತರು ದೀನಬಂಧು ಟ್ರಸ್ಟನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಆ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‍ನ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಲವು  ಸರಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ದತ್ತು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಶನ, ವಸನ, ವಸತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ನೀಡತೊಡಗಿದರು.

ಮೈಸೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿರಾಶ್ರಿತ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾದ ಶಕ್ತಿಧಾಮ, ಬಿ. ಆರ್. ಹಿಲ್ಸ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದ ಗಿರಿಜನ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಕೇಂದ್ರ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರಕಾರದ ಗಡಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ದುಡಿಮೆಗೈದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
