April 05 : The concluding ceremony of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of ‘Bondelchem Bonder’ Konkani monthly magazine being published at St Lawrence church premises , Bondel, was held on Sunday, 4th April 2021. Rev Fr Andrew Leo D’souza, the parish priest of St Lawrence church inaugurated the concluding ceremony by watering the plant.
Fr Valerian Fernandes, editor of Raknno presided over the programme. Rev Fr Andrew D’Souza, Parish Priest Bajal was present as the chief guest.
Present editor of the magazine, Wilfred Alvares welcomed the gathering. Shri Manjoj Concesso gave details of the journey of the magazine during the last 25 years.
Rev Fr Andrew D’souza in his inaugural address said that the magazine has been getting published without interruption for the last 25 years. “This magazine creates awareness among common people regarding social, educational and religious subjects. May this magazine create awareness in every sphere while contributing to Konkani language, culture and literature”, he said.
Rev. Fr Rupesh Taruro, Rev. Fr Clifford Pinto, Mr Rejinald Pinto, Mr Steevan Noronha, Mr Wilfred Alavares, Mrs Rita Pinto and Mr Manohar Concesso were present on the dais.
Former editors and publishers who had worked relentlessly for the progress of the Magazine were also honoured on the occasion. They were Shri Richard Pereira , Shri Lancy Dcunha, Shri Stany Alavres and Shri Wilfred Alvares.
Rev. Fr Rupesh Tauro thanked the persons who toiled for the success of the programme. Mrs Zeena Corneleo compered the function.
After the stage programme as a cultural event , 10th M.M. Kumar Musical Nite was presented.
