Mangaluru, May 22: After a week’s orientation, the new priests of Mangalore diocese were commissioned by the Bishop on 21 May during the Eucharistic celebration held at Pastoral Institute.
Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha in his homily said that, new priests must base their ministry on the Word of God and called to participate and promote Small Christian Community in the parishes. He also urged the new priests to learn to maintain the church documents and records because negligence may cost a lot.
Bishop gave a kit to new priests which can be used for their priestly ministry and sent them to their respective parishes.
Fr Peter D’Souza Director Pastoral Institute, Fr Joachim Fernandes Director SCC, Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza Director ICYM, were present.
The following are new priests of Mangalore diocese:
1. Fr Pramodh Crasta Kasargode
2. Fr Nelson Peres Farla
3. Fr Larry Pinto Ferar
4. Fr Osmand Roshan Shivmogga /Udyavar
