Nov. 23, 2017: ‘THE SCHOOL ANNUAL DAY’ of Lourdes Central School (LCS) was celebrated with great zest, vibrancy and elation here on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in Bejai Church Hall, Mangalore, with medley of events from each class woven around the theme “HAPPY CHILDREN HAPPY WORLD’. The programme commenced with a scintillating Welcome Dance.
Rt. Rev. Msgr Dennis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General, Diocese of Mangalore was the President of the function. The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Rev. Fr. Wilson L. Vitus D’Souza, Manager, Lourdes Central School; Rev. Fr. Rohan Lobo, Asst. Parish Priest, Bejai Parish; PTEC President Dr. Vasudev Pai, Joint Secretary of PTEC Mrs. Ramona Mathias, Mr. Stany Vaz, Vice President, Bejai Parish Pastoral Parishad, and Members of the Managing Committee.
Principal of the school Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries present.
Ms. Dilla Colaco member of the faculty introduced the President of our School Annual Day celebrations.
Rt. Rev. Msgr Dennis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General, Diocese of Mangalore and was felicitated for the valuable service rendered to the Diocese of Mangalore and the society at large by Rev. Fr. Wilson D’Souza and Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza.
The Principal Rev. Fr. Robert D’ Souza presented the School Annual Report 2016-17.
Rt. Rev. Msgr Dennis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General, Diocese of Mangalore in his Presidential address, appreciated and congratulated the participants. He congratulated the school for taking such an edifying topic which requires a quick moral action on everybody’s part. Young students are the future of our country and the world at large. Education should aim at holistic development of the students. He highlighted the simple life of Late President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam which he said must be emulated by our young students, and become Abdul Kalam’s of tomorrow.
Manager of our school Rev. Fr. Wilson Vitus D’souza, in his address called upon parents and added “important values have to be inculcated and cherished in children. Education is growing in wisdom and not gathering knowledge”. He summarized education saying that education is competency, consciousness, compassion and commitment.
Then began the cultural bonanza where our ebullient students of the school presented an array of cultural programmes with colourful props depicting ‘Happy Children Happy World’. The two–hour long Cultural Show held the audience in awe and left them enlightened as the show culminated.
Students of class 6 adorned in their finery presented ‘Unity in Diversity, which brought out the essence of cultural diversity and rich heritage of the country, through a glittering dance and music.
‘Mangaluru’ showcased the rich cultural heritage of Kodial through vibrant folk dances, by students of class 7.
‘LCS instrumental in manifesting Happiness’, by the students of class 8, displayed the World of a Happy child in LCS through fusion of varied dances.
‘Happiness of a Girl Child’ by the students of class 9 projected the journey of a girl child from an unwanted thing to a celebrity in the society, was depicted through a brilliant Musical Drama,
‘A quintessential Pantomime’ performed by students of class 10 with exuberance, unmatched zeal and rhythm is a musical comedy which includes gags, comedy dancing, topical humour with a story loosely based on fairy tales, exuding a message that after all the trials there is Hope for a better tomorrow.
‘Worldwide Happiness’ a blend of dance, drama and mime by the students of class 11 & 12 was truly amazing : amazing act, amazing dance steps, and amazing costumes sending forth a powerful message – To be Happy with what you have and are, be generous with both and you won’t have to hunt for Happiness.

ಅವರು ನಗರದ ಲೂಡ್ರ್ಸ್ ಸೆ0ಟ್ರಲ್ ಶಾಲೆಯ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವ ಸಮಾರ0ಭದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. “ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೋಷಕರ ಪಾತ್ರ ಅತೀ ಹಿರಿದಾದುದು. ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳೊ0ದಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಮಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡದಿದ್ದರೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಲೂಡ್ರ್ಸ್ ಸೆ0ಟ್ರಲ್ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪರಿಸರ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೌಲ್ಯಾಧರಿತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ದೊರಕುತ್ತದೆ. ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊ0ದಿಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸರ್ವತೋಮುಖ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳೊ0ದಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಮಯ ಕಳೆಯಿರಿ” ಎ0ದು ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯೊ0ದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ0ಭವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಲಾ ಪ್ರಾ0ಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ರೆ.ಫಾ.ರೋಬರ್ಟ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ವರದಿ ವಾಚಿಸಿದರು. ಶಾಲಾ ಸ0ಚಾಲಕ ರೆ.ಫಾ. ವಿಲ್ಸನ್ ವೈಟಸ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಪೋಷಕರ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿದರು. ತನ್ನ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಜೀವನದ ಐವತ್ತರ ಸುವರ್ಣ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸ0ದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾ0ಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ನೀಡಿದ ವಿಶೇಷ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿ ಶಾಲಾ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಅತೀ ವ0ದನೀಯ ಮೊನ್ಸಿಜೊರ್ ಡೆನಿಸ್ ಮೊರಾಸ್ ಪ್ರಭುರವನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
“ಹ್ಯಾಪಿ ಚಿಲ್ಡ್ರನ್, ಹ್ಯಾಪಿ ವಲ್ರ್ಡ್” ಎ0ಬ ಧ್ಯೇಯ ವಾಕ್ಯದೊ0ದಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿ0ದ ಅತ್ಯಾಕರ್ಷಕ ಮನೋರ0ಜನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೈ ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಧರ್ಮಗುರು ಫಾ. ರೋಹನ್ ಲೋಬೊ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಕ–ರಕ್ಷಕ ಸ0ಘದ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಡಾ. ವಾಸುದೇವ ಪೈ, ಚರ್ಚ್ ಪಾಲನಾ ಮ0ಡಳಿಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಸ್ಟ್ಯಾನಿ ವಾಸ್, ಶಾಲಾ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮ0ಡಳಿಯ ಆಗಸ್ಟಿನ್ ರೊಡ್ರಿಗಸ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಉಪಪ್ರಾ0ಶುಪಾಲೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಬೆಲಿಟಾ ಮಸ್ಕರೇನ್ಹಸ್ ವ0ದಿಸಿದರು.
ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯರಾದ ಡಿಲ್ಲಾ ಕೊಲಾಸೊ, ಆಪೊಲಿನ್ ಲೋಬೊ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು. ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯರಾದ ದೀಪ ಡಿಸೋಜ, ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಜೋಸೆಫ್, ಐವನ್ ಮಸ್ಕರೇನ್ಹಸ್, ರೋಹನ್ ಸಿಕ್ವೇರಾ, ರೋಶನಿ ಜೋಸ್ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದರು.
