March 21 : Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha , the Bishop Mangalore diocese inaugurated Amoris Laetitia Family year and presided over the Eucharistic celebration on the feast of St Joseph on 19 March 2021 at St Joseph Seminary Jeppu Mangalore.
Bishop Peter Paul Inaugurated Amoris Letitia Family Year by unveiling the logo, in the presence of Diocesan Priests, Religious men and women, Seminarians and lay faithful.
Bishop in his homily said , St Joseph takes care of us, intercedes for us and we are called to get up and act as St Joseph did. We must go to Joseph in our difficulties because he is tender in heart .He is the epitaph of God the father who is tender in love and compassion. We need to dream high and recognize the plan of God like St Joseph and also be tender in heart as the heads in our families.
Msgr Maxim L Noronha Vicar General, Fr Victor George D Souza, the chancellor of the diocese, Fr Vincent Monteiro the Parish Priest Bendur Parish, Very Rev Paul Melwyn D Souza OFM Cap, the Episcopal Vicar for religious were present.
Rev Dr Ronald Serrao the Rector of the seminary, in his message wished all a happy feast and thanked all those who made the occasion meaningful and a memorable one
Fr Anil Alfred D Souza, the Director of FLSC, gave an input about the importance of the Amoris Laetitia Family year and invited the guest to unveil the logo after the mass.
Bishop Emeritus, Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D Souza, released the book on Amoris Laetitia Family along with Dr Amith and his family, who represented all the families of the diocese.
The logo focuses on the theme, ” Family: a Gift of God, Cradle of Love and Faith ” and Pastors are called for Pastoral accompaniment of the families in their respective Parishes.
