Successful completion of ‘Keerthanacho Vhalo’ 150 Psalms singing in 24 hours at Sacred Heart Church Madanthyar

March 22, 2021 : 15 choir groups of over 350 singers sang the praises to Almighty with 150 psalms in Konkani text as it is in the Bible here in Sacred Heart Church Madanthyar from 20th March 5 p.m onwards to 21st March 6:15 p.m.

The historical event in the history of the church began with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Most Rev Lawrence Mukuzzy , Syro-Malabar Catholic bishop of Diocese of Belthangady. In his homily he highlighted the importance of praying Psalms and spiritual benefit of praying Psalms. He gave a call to the youngsters to memorize the Psalms. Msgr . Maxim Noronha , Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangalore expressed his joy and flagged off the event by reciting the prayer. Prior to the beginning of the singing , Bible installation was done with a grand procession.

The groups took their turn and completed the signing with devotion.

The concluding of the ‘Keerthanacho Vhalo’ took place on the 21st evening at 4:45 p.m. The holy Eucharist was presided over by Rev Dr Ronald Serrao, Rector St Joseph seminary, Mangaluru.

Before the Holy Eucharist a short felicitation was arranged to thank the donors and people who made the event successful. Rev Dr Ronald Serrao, Rev Fr Joseph Cardoza Vicar of Belthangady Vicariate, Rev Fr Valerian Dsouza Chaplain Mariashram Talapady, Rev Fr Basil Vas Convener, Rev Fr Arun Lobo Coordinator , Mr Leo Rodrigues Vice President Madanthyar , Mr. Jerald Secretary were present on the dais. All the Parish Priests and the Priests of the varado were present.
