MANGALURU, Feb 18, 2023: The Chair in Christianity of Mangalore University and Ryshivana Institute of Spirituality jointly organised a seminar on “National Education Policy 2020” at Ryshivana, Munnur-Ranipura on Saturday, 18 February 2023. The seminar was attended by over 200 participants, most of them were teachers, lecturers and professors from various educational institutions in and around Mangalore.
ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀತಿ 2020 ರ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಚಾರಸಂಕಿರಣ
ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ವಿದ್ಯಾಪೀಠ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಋಷಿವನ, ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕತೆಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ-ಕುತ್ತಾರು ಇವುಗಳ ಜಂಟಿ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ 18 ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 2023 ರಂದು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀತಿ 2020 ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಚಾರಸಂಕಿರಣವು ಜರಗಿತು.
ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಅತೀ ವಂ. ಡಾ. ಪೀಟರ್ ಪಾವ್ಲ್ ಸಲ್ದಾನ್ಹಾರವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ಮು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವು ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ತರಗತಿ ಅಥವಾ ಪಠ್ಯಪುಸ್ತಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗದೆ ಬದುಕುವ ಕಲೆಯನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸಬೇಕು ಹಾಗೂ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜದ ಕೆಡುಕುಗಳ ವಿಮೋಚನೆಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.
ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಷಿಯಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಲೊಯೋಲಾ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಡಾ. ರಿಚ್ಚರ್ಡ್ ಗೊನ್ಸಾಲ್ವಿಸ್ ರವರು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀತಿಯ ಸಮಗ್ರ ನೋಟವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರೆ, ಜವಾಹರಲಾಲ್ ನೆಹರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಪ್ರೊ. ವಲೇರಿಯನ್ ರೊಡ್ರಿಗಸ್ ರವರು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀತಿಯ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯ ಚರ್ಚೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂತ ಅನ್ನ ಬಿಎಡ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕಿ ಡಾ. ಪ್ಲೋಸಿ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಹಾಗೂ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯ ಚರ್ಚೆಯನ್ನು ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ವಂ. ಡಾ. ಗ್ರೆಗರಿ ಡಿಸೋಜರವರು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಕಲಾವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಜಯರಾಜ್ ಅಮೀನ್ ರವರು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀತಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕೆಲವು ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಮಂಡಿಸಿದರು. ಋಷಿವನದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ವಂ. ಡಾ. ಅರ್ಚಿಬಾಲ್ಢ್ ಗೊನ್ಸಾಲ್ವಿಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಪೀಠದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ವಂ. ಡಾ. ಐವನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜರವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಜರಗಿದ ಈ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 250 ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ದುಡಿಯುವವರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಋಷಿವನದ ಭೋದಕ ವೃಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ವಿಚಾರಸಂಕಿರಣದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು.
Right at the outset, Rev. Dr Archiblad Gonsalves, the Director of the Institute extended a cordial welcome to one and all. The NEP 2020 was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha., Bishop of Mangalore. In his inaugural address he said, merely following school curriculum cannot guarantee real education. Education should be liberative. He invited the audience to study NEP 2020 and find ways and means of implementing the same.
Dr Richard Gonsalves, Director of Loyola Centre for Research and Innovation at St. Aloysius College, Mangalore gave an overview of NEP 2020. His detailed presentation gave a bird’s eye view of the Policy. Prof Valerian Rodrigues, the former Professor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi gave a Critical Appraisal. His insights into NEP 2020, emerging from his rich academic experience were thought provoking. The two sessions were moderated by Prof. Flossy D’Souza of St. Ann’s B Ed College and Rev. Prof Gregory D’Souza, OCD, former Head of the Dept of Christianity of the University of Mysore respectively. The resource persons patiently responded to all the questions raised from the floor.
Prof. Jayaraj Amin, Dean of the Mangalore University was introduced by Rev. Dr Ivan D’souza, the head of the Chair in Christianity. Prof. Jayaraj on the one hand appreciated NEP 2020 and on the other, highlighted the practical difficulties in implementing it.
Rev. Dr Wilfred Rodrigues compered the programme. Ryshivana Students sang the ‘Opening Chorus’ and the ‘Ryshivana Anthem’.
