MANGALORE , March 11 : A course on Biblical Christology, (Povithr Pusthokachem Devshasthr) for the faithful of Mangalore Diocese began at the Pastoral Centre on March 05, 2023.
Ephatha Biblical Centre, a unit of Mangala Jyothi (DBCLC) in association with the Diocesan Biblical Commission, has organised this course in Konkani. The beginning of this course coincides with the inauguration of the Jubilee year of Mangala Jyothi, as on the same morning, Bishop Emeritus of Mangalore Diocese Aloysius Paul D’Souza inaugurated the Golden Jubilee of Mangala Jyothi in a beautiful ceremony of Diocesan Catechism Day Celebration held at the Pastoral Centre.
The ‘Biblical Christology’ course will be held four Sundays in March 2023 from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm. Rev Dr Rajesh Rosario, the Christology professor at St Joseph’s Seminary and Rev Dr Vincent Sequeira, the Secretary of the Diocesan Biblical Commission, will jointly conduct this course.
Rev Dr Rajesh Rosario noted that the course would deal with the themes such as the mystery of incarnation, Christ and the Old Testament, Christology of the Synoptic gospels, the gospel of John and St Paul, Christological heresies and solutions and Christ as the universal saviour. Forty faithful from across the diocese will participate in this course.
