MANGALURU, FEB 6 : At the inauguration ceremony of the Missionary Children’s Association (MCA) held in St Lawrence Church, Bondel on Febraury 06, 2022, a big number of Children were commissioned to help each other under its motto.
The programme began with a prayer song. Rev. Fr Rupesh Tauro, Diocesan Director, Pontifical Mission Societies gave more information about MCA to all the children through a PPT presentation.
The Missionary Children Association was founded in France in 1843 by Bishop Charles de Forbin Janson. Its Motto, “Children Helping Children” awakens the missionary spirit of prayer and generous sacrifice in all the children of the world, leading them to share both spiritual and material resources.
“MCA members will be encouraged to pray daily and develop a strong relationship with God. They will learn the importance of praying for all brothers and sisters of all countries all over the world. We are one family on a mission!” said Fr Rupesh Tauro.
Rev Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, Parish Priest, Bondel Church gave an inspirational talk to all the kids gathered. He said, “The motto -“children helping children” will help the children in the missions to know Christ better and experience His love and care.
Mrs Philomena Pinto compared the programme. Sr Leticia PDDM welcomed and Mrs Shiney Monteiro proposed the vote of thanks. Rev Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, Rev. Fr Rupesh Tauro, Rev Fr Peter Gonsalves, Mr Reginald D’Souza and Mrs Celestine D’Souza were present among many children.
