Mangalore Diocese Catechism day celebration and felicitation to the toppersof Xstd Catechism exam washeld at Jyothi Nivas, Pastoral Institute Bajjodi on 6 March 2016.
Mrs Irene Rebello gave the input session on “Face of Mercy” for parents and the children.The Eucharistic celebration was presided over Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu Vicar General along with concelebrant priests.
Vicar General Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu presided over the felicitation programme with other guests viz: Fr. Xavier Sebastian SecretaryRegional CatecheticalCommission, Fr Jerald D Souza Secretary C.B.E, Mr. Alwyn Fernandez white doves and Fr. Vijay Machado were on the dais.
Rev. Fr.Vijay Machado announced the results and placed the report of the activities of Mangala Jyothi 2016.
Rev. Fr. Xavier Sebastian distributed the prizes to the teachers for the best articles in Konkani and English. Addressing at the occasion Fr.Xavier said that “We have to take the place of the father in the parable of prodigal son”.
Mr Jerald Alwyn Fernandez congratulated the toppers and then spoke on the Importance of Catechism in the life of the students. He said that these days the importance given to the catechism by the parents is less.
The toppers were honoured by VG Msgr. Denis MorasPrabhu. Mrs.LavinaD’Cunha read out the names of the toppers.
Vicar General Msgr. Denis MorasPrabhu gave his message and said that this day is the most remembered day, joyous day to you. He wished the parents for motivating the children.
103 toppers along with their parents took part in the programme.
