MANGALORE, JULY 24: To express solidarity with the suffering people of Manipur and to pray for the unrest to cease, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mangalore called for a silent protest on Sunday, July 23, 2023 in all its parishes.
Almost all 124 parishes of the diocese both in Dakshina Kannada and Kasargod districts held silent protests at the Church entry gates and in public places after Sunday Services.

Faithful prayed for Peace in Manipur during the Eucharistic Mass and gathered in large numbers outside the church in every parish despite heavy rains.
Catholic Sabha Mangalore ® took the lead in holding peace protests and raised public awareness of the situation in Manipur.
A circular published by the diocese also noted that Catholic Sabha and Commission for Women to hold a large public rally at the Clock Tower in Mangalore on Thursday July 27, 2023 at 4 pm condemning the Violence against Women.
