Mishal Queeni Dcosta IRS interacts with YET students

Dec 4, 2016: One day training was organized by Diocesan CAP Cell for selected Youth Empowerment Training (YET) students of classes 10th std and PUC on 4th December 2016 in CODP-ISD Mangaluru.

On this day following classes were conducted for 10th std students: GMAT by Mr. Patrick Braggs, Mrs Sheryl Prabhu took class for Geography: Topic – Significance of Geography of Coastal Karnataka, Mrs Sharmila took class for Chemistry: Topic – Carbon and its compounds

For PUC students: Sr. Sylvette AC took class for Geography: Topic – Geomorphology II, GMAT by Mr. Patrick Braggs, Mr. Stephan Quadros took class for Indian History: Topic – The Mauryan Empire.

In the evening, there was an interactive session between YET students and Ms. Mishel Queeni D Costa of Neerude. Queeni is originally from Neerude parish.  She scored 387th Rank in UPSC this year and got selected for IRS (Indian Revenue Service) and undertaking training in that at Delhi.  She is the first Mangalorian Catholic Candidate to reach IRS position.  She spoke to the students and motivated them to appear for Civil Services (UPSC exams).

Fr. Oswald Monteiro, Director of CODP, welcomed Ms. Queeni Mishel D Costa.  Ms. Queeni gave a brief introduction about her career and explained the students how to face the UPSC exams in detail.

Some of the students interacted with her and asked questions about UPSC exams. The questions were answered to the satisfaction of the students.

On behalf of the students, Fr. Vernon Vaz, Guidance cell coordinator proposed the vote of thanks. Mr Stephan Quadros, Permude was also present for the session.

Totally 26 students enthusiastically participated in the one day YET programme (13 students from 10th std and 13 students from PUC) and two Educare students also attended this interactive session.
