Mangaluru July 26: The Bishop Elect of Mangalore Diocese, Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha inaugurated the Government Minority Scholarship Help Desk here today started by YCS/YSM Mangalore Diocese in collaboration with Spandana Trust (R) at Infant Mary Campus, Jeppu, Mangaluru. At 4.30 pm the Bishop led a short prayer service after which the inauguration was done through opening the Scholarship website. The Chief Guest Sr Metilda Monteiro- Provincial, Sisters of Charity, Mangaluru Province was present with the Guests of Honour Mr Aloysius Pinto- renowned entrepreneur in Mangaluru, Mr Alphonse Crasta – Proprietor, CompuNet Systems, Sr Marceline – Animator at Infant Mary Campus, Sr Helen- Incharge of Spandana Trust.

Fr Rupesh Madtha, the Director, YCS/YSM Mangaluru welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. The Bishop in his address appreciated the initiative and gave a call to serve the needy with a loving heart. He also said that it is worth to inscribe our name in the hearts of people by service than on the marble stones. Rev Sr Metilda appreciated the noble venture and promised her whole hearted support. YCS/YSM diocesan president Ms Ashvia Anna Lasrado proposed the vote of thanks.

YCS/YSM Diocesan Animator Mr Prajwal Sequeira Derebail, Diocesan Coodinator Mr Mervin Vas Ferar, Diocesan Secretary Ms Jean Lobo Ashoknagar, Join Secretary Mr Einstein Pinto Bajal, Sr Evangeli, Sr Tulia, Sr Dorothy and others were also npresent. Mr Victor Vas Kulshekar, the Manager of Spandana Trust compeered the program. The Help Desk has served 600 students free of cost in the last academic year too.

The Help Desk serves the purpose of free uploading of scholarship applications of minority students (preferably Christians). It will be open from August to October, 9.30 am to 5.30pm in the week days except on Sundays at Infant Mary Campus Jeppu, Mangaluru.

Students will get the following documents: Adhar Card, Fee Receipt from the College, Bank Pass Book Copy, Income/ Cast Certificate, previous Marks Card, 2 photographs. (If renewal – Personal ID and Password of previous year upload)
