On 28th October the feast of St.Jude patron of Pakshikere Church & Shrine was celebrated. It was a grand triple celebrations for the church and shrine – Annual Feast, Community Weddings and the new Hall inauguration. The program of the day began at 9 a.m. welcoming the bishop of Mangalore followed by blessing of the new hall. Then the holy Eucharistic sacrament began at 9:30 a.m. The bishop was the main celebrant, nearly 35 priests con celebrated. During this mass 16 couples exchanged their marriage vows and entered into the sacrament of matrimony in the presence of bishop and priests. Fr. Joseph Martis the rector of the seminary preached on the theme of the mercy and forgiveness of God.
After the mass there was felicitation program in the new hall. Our Bishop Rt. Rev. Aloysius Paul D’souza was the president of the program. Dr. D Virendra Hegde was the special guest of the honor and inaugurator of the hall. There were many dignitaries present on the dais. After this felicitation program the couples were felicitated. And program was concluded by the fellowship meal served for all. Nearly 10000 people participated in this memorable event and enjoyed the program of the day. In the begining the parish priest Fr. Andrew Leo D’souza welcomed all. Mr. Vincent D’souza the vice president proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Manohar Prasad the chief editor of Udayavani was the master of ceremony for the day.
